On March 23rd, the United States Postal Service released its long-awaited 10-Year Strategic Plan. Within the plan, the USPS states that they will be aligning pricing strategies with organization and marketplace needs by implementing the new pricing authorities granted to them by the Postal Regulatory Commission. They state that they will “apply judicious and prudent strategies to optimize revenues and contribution within applicable regulatory constraints.” The new “regulatory constraints” would allow the USPS to raise some product rates by 8%-8.5% this summer.
