USPS Files for Price Increases for Competitive Products for 2022

The United States Postal Service filed a notice on November 10, 2021, with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) regarding the price adjustment for competitive products for 2022. This price adjustment must be approved by the PRC, but typically for competitive products, the PRC gives quick approval. The USPS plans to implement these price increases on January 9, 2022. 

Please note that there will NOT be a price increase in January 2022 for the market-dominant products, such as First-Class, Periodicals, USPS Marketing Mail, and Package Services.

The planned price changes include:
Priority Mail Express: overall increase of 3.1%
Priority Mail: overall increase of 3.1%
Parcel Select: overall increase of 5.5%
Parcel Return Service: overall increase of 4.9%
First-Class Package Service: overall increase of 7.6%
USPS Retail Ground: overall decrease of 7.4%
Global Express Guaranteed: overall increase of 2.3%
Priority Mail Express International: overall increase of 3.2%
Priority Mail International: overall increase of 3.7%
International Priority Airmail (IPA); overall increase of 4.9%
International Surface Air Lift (ISAL): overall increase of 8.2%
Airmail M-Bags: overall increase of 5.0%
First-Class Package International Service: overall increase of 4.2%
There are also adjustments for Expedited Services, Ancillary Services and
Special Services.
